The technical control of measuring instruments is carried out through the following methods:

• type approval;
• periodical technical verification;
• technical verification after changing the position of the measuring instrument;
• technical verification after repair.

The type approval is valid for a period of 4 years. The validity period may be extended only once, for a maximum of 2 years.

In case of measuring instruments produced and imported after January 1 st, 2002, the existence of type /extension marking of the type approval is a mandatory prerequisite for allowing the measuring instrument to undergo technical verification.

The maximum validity period of initial and regular technical verifications is 12 months.

The technical verifications after changing the position or repairing the measuring instrument are taken into account only if they fall within the validity period of the license. After the license has expired, these categories of technical verifications become regular technical verifications and they are charged as such.

The technical verification after changing the position or repairing the measuring instrument performed during the validity period of the license does not imply the change of the validity period of the initial or regular technical verification.

At the owner change of the gambling device, the type/extension marking of the type approval affixed on the respective gambling device remains valid.

Any owner change of the gambling device imposes a new regular technical verification of the gambling device, though the validity of the previous technical verification has not ended.
