1.   The Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology issues type approvals, upon request, according to the Legal Metrology Instructions IML 2-05 approved by Government Decision 1660/2005 and published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I, no. 46/18.01.2006.
2.   The applicant should fill in the application form evaluation according to the Annex to IML 2-05 (see the model given in annex No.1) and have it registered with the Secretariat located in BRML Sos Vitan Bârzesti 11, sector 4, Bucharest.
3.   Along with the evaluation application, the applicant will submit the basic documentation to the Type Approval Service (TAS), which should contain the documents specified in the Annex to IML 2-05, clause 1.3 and clause 1.4 (see annex no. 2 for a list of documents to be attached to the application for type approval, no annex. 3 for granting an individual type approval and annex no. 4 for amending the type approval / individual type approval).
4.   The Type Approval of the Technical Service Department - BRML keeps in touch with the applicant throughout the evaluation process, in order to clarify / find solutions to any specific issues or any problems that might occur during the various stages of the evaluation process.
5.   The type evaluation is carried out based on evaluation programs, agreed by the applicant and approved by BRML.
6.   The fees for type approval or individual type approval evaluations are given in the List of tariffs - LT 2004, approved by Order no. 79/16.02.2004 of the Minister of Economy and Trade and published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I, no. 208/10.03.2004, updated with the inflation rate, approved by no.233/27.03.2006 Order of the Minister of Economy and Trade and published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I, no.311/06.04.2006.
7.   The final documents are issued only after the applicant has paid the fees for type approval evaluation.
